A word about ticket dust...
Dust and dirt in ticket printers can cause problems and merely “blowing” the dust and dirt around is not always sufficient. A regular “Preventative Maintenance” program can in the long run save on downtime and equipment costs.
One component of the dust and dirt is paper dust, while not completely avoidable; Graphic Controls takes steps to limit the amount of paper dust. GC is ISO 2001 certified and in doing so we have standard operating procedures for the manufacture of tickets. During manufacture we take the following steps to limit the amount of dust transferred:
- A brush and vacuum system is used to clean the paper web before going through any printing.
- The press operator takes samples at prescribed intervals to manually and mechanically test the perf to assure the blade penetrated cleanly through the sheet with no “dead” areas that would compromise the tensile / tear characteristics or create excessive paper dust in the finished packs.
- A die slits the web into finished packs on the press before going through the folder. This ensures consistent ticket width across all positions and clean, dust free edges along both sides of the finished packs.
- When finished packs of tickets exit the press they’re put on a conveyor where the packs go through an automated brush / vacuum process to remove small amounts of particulate left clinging to the sides before they are shrink wrapped and packaged.
Last of all the Shrink Wrap provides that final protection from environmental dust, dirt and humidity that can affect an open pack either in the back of the machine, a storage closet or in the technician’s apron. The Shrink Wrap also lessens the chance of bent edges and pack breakage due to handling prior to insertion into the ticket tray.
Graphic Controls understands that you need tickets that keep your slots running and your players playing …. tickets that work! |
