Internships At Graphic Controls

Available Internships

To inquire about possible internship opportunities, please contact our Human Resource Department

In our commitment to the professional development of others, Graphic Controls offers various internship opportunities across all departments for students and upcoming professionals. We strive to provide our interns with a quality learning environment in order to help them acquire and develop the skills necessary for future job placement and advancement.

About our internships:

Unlike many internship programs, interns at Graphic Controls are given the opportunity to work on real tasks that will impact the business and allow the student to apply knowledge and concepts acquired during their education. Each intern is assigned a department and Manager. The reporting Manager is responsible for working with the intern to assign tasks and ensuring those tasks are completed in a satisfactory manner.

Graphic Controls interns are typically paid and arrangements may be made with the educational institution to receive course credits for time spent at Graphic Controls.  Internships at Graphic Controls typically take place in the summer, however other options may be available based on need and by request. The time period usually lasts a minimum of 12 weeks.

 Qualifications and Expectations:

We are looking for motivated and well rounded students who are currently enrolled  full time in a college or university. Eligible candidates must have at least a 3.0 GPA, and be entering their Junior or Senior Year of study.

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record, previous intern experience and an interest/educational background in the chosen area of the business. Candidates should also have strong written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability and desire to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities.

Although not considered an employee of Graphic Controls, a student intern shares many expectations with that of Company employees, including:

  1. Adhering to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior.
  2. Adhering to company policies governing the observation of confidentiality and the handling of confidential information.
  3. Assuming personal and professional responsibilities for his/her actions and activities.
  4. Maintaining professional relationships with company employees, customers and so forth.
  5. Utilizing a courteous, enthusiastic, open-minded, critical approach to policies and procedures within the profession.
  6. Relating and applying knowledge acquired in the academic setting to the company setting.
  7. Developing a self-awareness in regard to attitudes, values, behavior patterns, and so forth that influence work.
  8. Preparing for and utilizing conferences and other opportunities of learning afforded in the company.
  9. Being consistent and punctual in the submission of all work assignments to the supervisor and faculty coordinator.

“Interning at Graphic Controls has given me, in my opinion, the most valuable part of a resume; real world experience. This internship has shown how to take what I have learned through my engineering curriculum and apply it to solve real world problems. This job has helped me grow into a confident student, well rounded professional, and overall more successful individual. The experiences obtained working in a manufacturing environment surrounded by successful, knowledgeable, and personable co-workers can be summed up in one word- priceless!”

- Dan Lawrence, Mechanical Engineering Intern

“Interning with Graphic Controls has made me much more marketable as a young professional.  The skills and expertise I have gained through my experiences here don’t just mimic the real world; they come from working in the head office of an organization which sets world-wide market trends. My personal duties have ranged in all facets of the business without the monotonous work-load which interns sometimes face.  For these and several other reasons, I would highly recommend an internship with GC.”

- Matt Kallin, Marketing Intern.
